ANNUAL MEETING AT PHOTONICS WEST

It was a full house at the APOMA annual meeting in San Francisco! We announced the new board, reviewed the Tucson Tech Workshop and other APOMA activities this past year.

Jessica DeGroote Nelson of Optimax presented on “Fabricating and Testing Freeform Optics,” sharing the latest developments, including an approach to freeform tolerancing. Everyone expressed how much they enjoyed Jessica’s talk and how impressed they were with her ability to take a subject like freeform and explain it in terms that everyone could understand.

We also honored our friend and colleague Bob Novak, and are thankful for your support of the Robert “Bob” Novak Scholarship Fund. Read on for further details.

I am proud to serve as your new President, and I look forward to a great year to come!

Sincerely,
Justin J. Mahanna
