Apoma board members up for SPIE Election

The SPIE election slate has been approved by the Board of Directors for the 2015 vote and we are pleased to announce that two of our own APOMA board members have been chosen as candidates.

Jay Kumler and John Greivenkame are each running in this year's election. Jay is a candidate for one of the four Director positions that will be selected and he will serve a three-year term if elected. John is one of the candidates for Vice President; if elected, he will serve for one year.

Eligible SPIE members can vote from June 11 through August 3. We encourage you to support your fellow APOMA members!

Ballots and voting instructions will be announced by SPIE to all eligible members.

Robert "bob" novak Scholarship fund

On December 6, 2014 we lost our dear friend and colleague Bob Novak.  He devoted his time generously to support and grow the MCC Optical Systems Technology Program over his 37-year tenure.

The Robert "Bob" Novak Memorial Fund was established at the Rochester Area Community Foundation (RACF) in recognition of his tireless devotion to the optics community. The proceeds of the Fund will support education in optics manufacturing. Our goal is to grow this Fund in excess of $100,000.

We are asking friends, colleagues and associates from the optics industry to make a generous donation to the Fund in his memory.  Contributions can be made via check or credit card on the RACF website.

Contributor Levels
Corporate - $5,000   Gold - $1,000  Silver - $500  Bronze - $100

Contributions by check can be made out to:
"Robert "Bob" Novak Scholarship Fund of RACF"
Rochester Area Community Foundation
